Sam was raised in a family with a strong love for dogs you could always find her outside playing with the dogs. As an adult, one of the first things she and her husband Landon bought for their new home was a four legged family member named Tori, a small German Shepherd dog with a BIG personality. Sam and her husband are both huge fans of GSDs so this was the breed they chose, undertaking the challenge of this strong working breed Sam discovered a passion for training. Through an apprenticeship with another local trainer, Sam decided to pursue her education and subsequently certification in the hopes of helping others build better, long lasting bonds with their canine companions. At this time, their family grew adding another GSD - Baron, and Sam’s life would be changed forever. This boy came with myriad of challenges and inspired Sam’s dedication to learning all things behaviour related.
Sam is constantly enrolling in new classes as she believes continuing education is crucial. Continuing education allows her to maintain a current knowledge base on new training methods and stay up to date in this ever changing industry. Her passion lies in Scent Detection, Bonding and Behavior solutions. She has trained in both working and sport Scent Detection and loves watching dogs use their noses. Dogs “see” the world through their olfactory senses and excel at working scent jobs or playing scent games. Sam loves sharing this training skill with others and watching bonds grew through trust and fun.

Alyssia Stahl
Alyssia is an assistant trainer here at Canine Coaching. You can find her in many of our different classes.
She has always had a passion for working with animals. As a child she was raised with a canine companion next to her side and was always fascinated with the things they could learn, their behaviours and the love they had to offer which made wanting to train imminent. In 2012 Alyssia made the choice to further that passion and educate herself in Canine Obedience Training. Before being able to utilize her education, life took her down other roads such as finding her Husband Tom, and having a family consisting of two boys, Caleb and Denver and it wasn’t until again in 2018 that her passion for wanting to pursue a career in helping others with their canine companions was reignited and reachable.
Alyssia met Samantha through taking private one on one classes with Bentley, her Presa Canario X and was introduced into Scent Detection. From there, Alyssia decided to re-educate and in 2019 obtained her Certification in Dog Obedience Training from Ashworth College. Since then Alyssia has been working along side Samantha and enjoys exploring and learning the different types of dog sports the Canine Community has to offer. Alyssia and Bentley are currently attempting to obtain their Advanced Title in Scent Detection, have obtained their Novice Trick Dog Title and have recently started training in Weight Pull. Alongside Bentley in the home Alyssia also has Xena, a 5 year old Chihuahua and Xander a 11 year old Scottish Terrier. Alyssia believes every dog deserves the opportunity to learn and utilize their energy and that training a dog isn’t a simple cookie cutter method. With this belief she continuously explores different training methods and theories. One of her biggest joys in life is watching a canine and their handler form a bond and start to work as a team both inside and outside of the home.
